Rachel brings over 25 years of experience in the music industry, contributing to projects from grassroots inception to nationally recognised success. She began her career managing recording studios and producers, developing expertise in public relations and music marketing.
She went on to found Main Source Promotions, specialising in radio plugging and PR for Drum & Bass and Hip Hop labels, working with artists and industry leaders including Roni Size, Andy C, RAM Records, Hospital Records and General Levy. She also established a Drum & Bass record label, expanding her work into independent music entrepreneurship.
Rachel produced BBC Radio 1’s One in the Jungle with Fabio & Grooverider and the UK Garage Dreem Teem, programming that played a key role in the development of BBC Radio 1Xtra that was pivotal in bringing Black British music culture to national audiences.
A PGCE-qualified educator, she has over a decade of experience in further and higher education as well as delivering community and college radio projects across the UK. She combines industry practice with academic insight, supporting emerging artists and music professionals to navigate both the creative and commercial dimensions of the contemporary music industry.
