Nick Hunt

Nick is a producer, mix engineer, and music educator with over three decades of experience in the music industry and higher education. His career spans commercial studio practice, electronic music production, artist development, and academic teaching, giving students a balanced perspective on both the creative and technical sides of contemporary music making.

Nick began his career at the Church Studio London and has since worked across Alternative, Indie, Soul, Pop, Punk, and experimental genres. His credits cover production, engineering, mixing, mastering, editing, and creative collaboration, including work on artist development projects that support musicians in shaping their sound and preparing material for release. This professional background strongly informs his teaching and grounds it in real-world practice.

His educational approach emphasises clarity, creativity, and hands-on exploration. Nick focuses on helping students understand both the technical processes and the artistic reasoning behind production decisions, encouraging them to develop confidence, originality, and critical listening skills.

At the London College of Contemporary Music (LCCM), he teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, designing and delivering modules in Music Programming, Creative Music Production, Studio Production, and Post-Production Mixing & Mastering. He creates technical resources and project-based materials that support diverse learners and foster meaningful engagement.

Committed to inclusive, student-centred learning, Nick structures his classes to mirror professional studio environments, integrating real-world scenarios and industry-relevant tasks. In 2025, he was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) for his contribution to teaching excellence and innovative academic practice.
