Chris Barnett

Chris Barnett is an award-winning composer whose work spans film, television, theatre, and concert music. With a background in chart music, jazz, 20th-century classical and ethnomusicology, his music has been recorded with studio orchestras in Budapest, Bulgaria and at London’s Air Edel, Air Lyndhurst and Abbey Road Studios.

Chris’s feature length documentary credits include The Marbles (with Dame Janet Suzman, Paul McCann, Miriam Margolyes and Brian Cox), Getting Away With Murder(s) (with Dame Eileen Atkins and Julian Glover) Speer Goes to Hollywood (Best Score nominee), Postcards from the 48% (with Bob Geldoff, Miriam Margolyes and Joan Bakewell), The First Film (Best Score Awards featuring Sarah Lancashire), Modern British Slavery (with Lesley Sharp), and All the Wild Horses (Best Score Award).

His narrative features include A Cock and Bull Story (BAFTA-nominated and starring Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Keeley Hawes, Naomie Harris, Gillian Anderson and Stephen Fry), A Dose of Happiness, Borrowed Time (featuring Phil Davis, Theo Barklem-Biggs and Warren Brown) and Three Minute Moments (with Belinda Lang). He has also composed for theatre, academia and corporate campaigns for organisations such as Amnesty International, London Eye, and Madame Tussauds.
